Arshud Mahmood, Ph.D., P.E., G.E.
Dr. Mahmood graduated with a Ph.D. degree in Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1973, and has since been engaged in continuous professional practice. His project experience includes site drainage, groundwater evaluation, residential foundations, asphalt and concrete pavements, landslide investigation and stabilization, high-rise building foundations, and foundations for power plants, dams and pipelines. His forensic experience includes expansive soils, soil creep, foundation failures, pavement cracking and deterioration, slab deflection, moisture intrusion, wall failures, and sewer line distress. He has provided deposition testimony in over 70 cases in California, Nevada and Arizona, and has testified at trials in Superior and State Courts in Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, Las Vegas, and Phoenix. He is licensed as a Civil Engineer in a number of states, and as a Geotechnical Engineer in California.
Jamshid Amanat, Ph.D., P.E.
Dr. Amanat graduated with a Ph.D. degree in Engineering from West Virginia University, Morgantown, WV, in 1987, and over three decades of practice in civil and geotechnical engineering. His areas of expertise include building foundations, landslides, retaining structures, subterranean structures, pipelines, roads and bridges. His project experience include site characterization, field explorations, laboratory testing, engineering analysis of slope stability, drainage, earth movement, shallow and deep foundations for residential and commercial buildings, pavements, flatworks, and pipelines. His forensic experience includes critical review and analyses of construction documents, including contracts, scope of work, daily reports, testing laboratory results, special inspection reports, distress analysis of structures, causation analysis for observed conditions and distress, and concept remedial recommendations. Dr. Amanat is a registered Civil Engineer in California.
